Risk Assessment – Covid 19  

Updated and effective from 01 December 2021

The safety of our customers and employees is paramount to us. We have reviewed and updated our procedures which gives you our customers, the confidence to travel with us and our employees to have peace of mind when at work.

We continue to follow the most recent Government guidance in England and will continue to review these measures regularly.

Risk Controls

A number of key risk controls will still be implemented:

Social Distancing
  • Seats situated within 2 metres of driver restricted from use by customers
  • Requesting passengers fill vehicles from the back and empty from the front where possible to reduce interaction
  • Requesting  passengers to remain seated at all times to reduce contact with others
  • Drivers will alight the vehicle to a safe distance when passengers are boarding or disembarking to reduce interaction
Cleaning and personal hygiene
  • Continued Enhanced cleaning regimes and increased frequency of cleaning touch points
  • Drivers to wipe down communal areas during the day with disinfectant
  • Regular aerosol based disinfection (fogging) on board vehicles
  • Continued requirement for customer to wear a face covering on private hire unless part of an exempt group or customer has a medical condition preventing this
  • Admin to ensure hirer/group aware of additional measures in place and understood/agreed
  • Drivers to wash hands regularly. Hand sanitiser provided for driver to use when washing facilities are not available
Exposure to Covid-19 due to close contact with injured person or vulnerable passenger
  • If member of public requires physical assistance, and driver feels competent to assist, a face mask will be worn. Hands must be washed/use of sanitiser before returning to vehicle/recommencing duties
Managing customers, colleagues and partners
  • Management structures allow overview and regular supervision of these control measures
  • All colleagues briefed and or trained on the relevant guidelines
  • Monitoring to ensure compliance with risk controls
  • Communication via briefings, posters, announcements on any new developments
  • Washing of hands before  commencement of work and driving duty.
  • Regular lateral flow tests undertaken – twice weekly.
